Yooo!

Yooo!

I'm Akhil T J, a UX Designer based in UK 🇬🇧.

My journey into UX design began while studying Undergrad in Computer Engineering, during which I became fascinated by how human behavior and decision-making influence technology. This curiosity led me to complete a Bootcamp in UX design with TinkerHub Foundation, where I honed my skills in wireframing, UI design, and prototyping.

Since then, I started Freelancing as a UI Designer, gaining the opportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from mobile apps for startups to enterprise-level web applications. I then took on a couple of Fixed contract gigs, which paved the way to a Full-time role at Foaps. My experience at Foaps has been my favourite so far, as it allowed me to see the real-world impact of my design decisions (Created a new onboarding experience for restaurants on Foaps. Early data indicates a ~30% reduction in dependency on customer support and a ~20% increase in successful onboarding).

Today, I am a Master's Graduate 😎 in Human-Centred Interactive Technologies from the University of York. This experience deepened my expertise in UX research and interaction design, strengthening my ability to make data-driven design decisions (Wrote a Research Paper in Human-Centred Cybersecurity). I am proficient with design tools like Figma, Framer and Miro, and I enjoy applying methodologies such as User-Centred Design and Lean UX to create functional and delightful experiences. I thrive in collaborative environments where I can share my design expertise while learning from others.

Outside of design, you’ll often find me exploring business ideas, developing personal tools (And yes, I code 🤙🏼), experimenting with new recipes, or simply binge-watching anime or sitcoms.

I draw inspiration from everyday experiences and love finding creative connections between design and the world around me. Perhaps that’s my Design philosophy.
